A Music-Loving Home with Colour and Character

After a new kitchen extension transformed the back of this Crouch End home, the remaining rooms needed a clearer purpose and a stronger sense of identity. The space between the front lounge and extension had become undefined, the lounge needed warmth, and the family wanted their home to reflect their love of music, entertaining and bold, characterful design.

MALT turned the in-between room into a flexible music room and playroom, giving instruments, listening rituals and everyday life a proper home. Crittall-style doors allow the space to be closed for privacy while still letting light through, keeping the home connected. Bespoke joinery brought storage, display and structure throughout, while custom furnishings, a wood burner, statement lighting, rich colour and organic materials added depth, atmosphere and real wow factor.

The result is a cool, quirky and welcoming home that feels full of rhythm and personality. Once tired and underused, these spaces now feel crafted, purposeful and completely connected to the way the family live.
