A Crafted Extension for Connected Living

This Oakwood home needed to work harder for modern family life, with a more open layout, better storage and a stronger connection between everyday spaces. The brief was to create a home that felt practical and welcoming, while bringing in warmth, character and a more considered design language throughout.

MALT reworked and extended the property to create a generous kitchen, dining and living space centred around light, flow and family connection. Bespoke joinery brought clarity and purpose, from the slatted entrance storage and built-in bench seating to the media wall, concealed utility and tailored kitchen cabinetry. A picture window with a window seat created a quiet moment within the kitchen, while rooflights, garden-facing glazing and an open-plan layout helped bring in daylight.

The result is a full refurbishment with a strong sense of craft and ease. Warm timber, deep blue tones, soft neutrals and layered lighting create a home that feels organised, welcoming and quietly elevated.
