From Empty Shell to Inviting Home

With generous proportions, striking views and an abundance of natural light, this Old Street penthouse had clear potential. Yet the existing layout did not support the way the client wanted to live. The kitchen felt disconnected, the open-plan spaces lacked definition, and the property needed warmth, intimacy and a stronger sense of home.

MALT reworked the layout to create a more functional, personal and inviting interior. Bespoke joinery brought purpose and storage, while layered lighting, organic textures and soft curves helped soften the scale of the space. A bold palette of deep blues and golden yellows, inspired by the client’s motor racing colours, added individuality and energy. Walnut tones, curated artwork and planting brought further warmth, helping each area feel considered and connected.

The result is a refined yet relaxed home that feels crafted, characterful and easy to live in. What was once an empty shell is now a space with rhythm, comfort and quiet luxury.
