We shape and refine the design at every stage, balancing creativity with clarity and attention to detail. Where a wider professional team is involved, we work collaboratively to ensure the interior design is clearly understood and coordinated with the wider project.

Design Advisory
A flexible, personalised service offering expert guidance without the need for a full design service.
We work with you at any stage of your project, providing clear, focused input where it is most needed. This may involve refining layouts, selecting materials, or helping to shape the overall direction of your home through thoughtful design and intelligent planning.
Drawing on our experience and trusted network of makers, suppliers and specialist craftspeople, we can also assist with more specific aspects of your project, from sourcing individual pieces and commissioning artwork to advising on bespoke joinery, finishes and styling.
The service is shaped around your project and the support you need, whether that involves a single design decision or ongoing input as your plans develop. Design Advisory can be delivered in person or remotely, giving you flexible access to our expertise when you need it.

How are your Full Design fees structured?
Can you help if I don't need a full design service?
Our fees reflect the scope, scale and level of design support required. Full Interior Design fees are calculated according to the areas being designed and the level of design input required, while Design Advisory is charged hourly. Following our initial consultation, we provide a clear fee proposal tailored to your project.
How is Design Advisory charged?
Design Advisory is charged hourly and purchased in prepaid blocks of five hours, giving you flexible access to our expertise as and when you need it.
Are furniture, artwork, and accessories included in the design fee?
The design fee covers our professional design services. Furniture, lighting, artwork, accessories and other specified items are charged separately. Where required, MALT can also support the delivery of the finished scheme through Procurement, Project Coordination and Installation & Styling.
Do you charge for travel time?
Yes. Where site visits are required, travel time and associated expenses may be chargeable. Any applicable costs will be made clear in your fee proposal.
Do you work on projects outside the UK?
Yes. We work on projects across the UK and internationally, subject to the scope and requirements of the project.
How involved will I need to be in the process?
Yes. Our Design Advisory service offers flexible, expert support at key stages of a project, whether you need help with layouts, materials, lighting, joinery, sourcing or the overall design direction.
We tailor our approach to each client. Some prefer to be closely involved, while others take a more hands-off approach. We guide the process accordingly, making sure you are involved in the decisions that matter while we manage the detail.
When should I engage you in a project?
Ideally, as early as possible and before key decisions have been made. Early involvement allows us to help shape the design from the outset, coordinate decisions effectively and avoid costly changes later in the project.
Do you work alongside architects and contractors?
Yes. We collaborate closely with architects, contractors and specialist makers, coordinating the interior design with the wider project and helping ensure it is carried through clearly and consistently during implementation.
